The legend is an info box that shows the colors and knitting symbols used in the work. By default, your chart with have MC (Main colour) and CC1, CC2, etc. Symbols will use their default names, and outlines will be numbered.
You can set the names and order of colours and symbols in the legend to anything you like by editing the colour/symbol by clicking on it twice in the bottom bar to edit it. You can rename outline areas in the Outline menu.
