Gauge

Your knitting gauge not only determines the final dimensions of your work, but also the distortion of your stitches. Knitted stitches are not square, and variations in gauge can produce very different results in colour work.

By entering your gauge correctly, the grid for your chart will accurately reflect the proportions of your stitches, so you can better predict the result of your knitted fabric.

You may choose from a selection of preset yarn weights and their respective gauges, including 'Square' which is useful for cross stitch projects. The most accurate results will come from knitting and blocking a swatch first, then using those stitch counts.

You may enter the number of stitches and rows in your gauge in either inches or cm.

Finally, save the settings with Save. Your chart will update immediately to show the new stitch ratios.
